The working behind the answer
How to use this calculator
Use your own hourly rate and a realistic estimate of time. Include relevant expenses explicitly. Decimal hours are fractions of an hour: 1.5 is 90 minutes, while 1.25 is 75 minutes. This tool helps make the arithmetic of a quote transparent.
The formula
Estimate a project
Project price = hourly rate × estimated hours + expenses
A worked example
At £45 an hour for 12 hours, labour totals £540. Add £60 of entered expenses and the estimated project price is £600. If the scope changes, update the hours and recalculate.
Good to know
The total is based only on the values entered. It adds no tax, contingency, platform fee or separate profit allowance, and does not recommend what you should charge. It is not a time tracker or an invoice generator.
Common questions
Can I enter half an hour?
Yes. Enter 0.5 hours. For 15 minutes, use 0.25 hours.
Does the total include tax?
No tax is calculated automatically. The result combines only the hourly amount and expenses you enter.
